The Story Behind the Photograph

Initially planning to photograph Cape Meares Lighthouse, I faced a road closure due to a landslide from the previous night's rain. Taking a detour added an hour to my journey, and by the time I arrived, it was too late for my intended shots. I decided to scout nearby locations for future sessions instead. Rounding a corner, I spotted a promising ocean view, so I parked, set up my drone, and took off.

Despite the delay, the sun was at a perfect height for capturing the shoreline. It cast beautiful reflections on the ocean and created dramatic shadows from the cliffs and rocks. This photo is a composite of three images taken moments apart and stitched together. I hope you enjoy the result.
